Note: Before attempting to install DUN, make sure you your Windows 95/98 CD handy
1. Go to Control Panel (Start - Settings - Control Panel) 2. Click on Add/Remove Programs. Now click on Windows Setup. 3. Double click on Communications
4. Place a check in the Dial-up Networking checkbox. 5. Now click "OK", then click "OK" again.
Note: Here, the computer will start copying files from the Windows 95/98 CD. After it has finished copying files, you will have to restart your computer.
Make sure the following is installed: Client For Microsoft Networks Dial-Up Adapter TCP/IP Note: This screenshot does not show the "Identification" tab. The Identification tab shows the computer name, workgroup and description.
If you do not have any of the above components, install the needed components by clicking Add The following screenshots will show the steps needed to add each individual component on its own.
The screenshot above shows the Select Network Component Type window. Click on Client to install the Client for Microsoft Networks component.
The above window will appear for Select Network Client. Click on Microsoft, then select Client for Microsoft Networks. Click on OK.
The above window will appear for Select Network Adapters. Click on Microsoft, then select Dial-Up Adapter. Click on OK.
The above window will appear for Select Network Protocol. Click on Microsoft, then select TCP/IP. Click on OK.
